Core Publisher: What is a One Story Curated Block?

The Curated Homepage Block allows you to feature Posts that you either created locally or pulled in from the NPR Story API. There are two treatments for the Curated Block -- Three Stories and One Story.

Use the One Story Curated Block to feature one post (either local or from the NPR Story API) on your homepage. The post that you select does not have to have images to be added to a Curated block.

In Region A:

This layout of the One Story Curated Block was designed with major news event consideration. If there is a huge breaking story, either locally or elsewhere, and you want to draw your reader’s eye to it immediately, using the One Story Block is very effective. The primary (first) image, headline and first few lines of text from the post are displayed prominently.

In Region B:

Because Region B is a skinnier region, the main image is stacked above the headline and post teaser text.

In Region C:

Because Region C is a larger region that spans the entire width of homepage, the size of the block in this region is a bit larger. The headline of main post overlays the image as well.
