How to download NPR One Membership Leads

NPR One provide stations the ability to connect and capture listener information, so that stations can build relationships directly with this new audience.

You may directly market to these listeners as you see fit, but stations may not share or sell the data with other parties, such as sponsors or other non-profits. All listener data is subject to the  NPR Privacy Policy.


Membership Lead Reports in StationConnect

New Users

This list includes new users who have subscribed to your station in NPR One. You can run this report for any date range with the earliest possible date starting at: 2014-07-28. You will see the following field labels:

  • NPR user ID - unique ID for any person across NPR products
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Call Letters
  • First Login
  • Total listening days since initial login
  • Last listening day
  • Total stories heard
  • Local content items heard

Active Users

This list includes all NPR One users who are currently listening to your station in the app and have listened at least twice in the last month. This user report will always default to the last completed calendar month, and should be run on a monthly basis from the first day to the last of the month. You will see the following field labels:
  • NPR user ID
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Call Letters
  • First Login
  • Total listening days
  • Last listening day
  • Total stories heard
  • Local content items heard

​How to download the reports 

  1. Log into StationConnect.org using your NPRstations.org credentials.
  2. Select your station from the Station column.
  3. Scroll down to the ‘Membership Lead Reports’ section, located below General Information.
  4. Click into the 'Month' field and pick a month to define your search.
  5. Click the ‘New Listeners’ and ‘Active Listeners’ buttons to download the membership leads reports. 

Suggested approaches for following up with the leads

Reminder: You may directly market to these listeners as you see fit, but stations may not share or sell the data with other parties, such as sponsors or other non-profits. All listener data is subject to the NPR Privacy Policy.

  • Send an introductory "Thanks for listening to us on NPR One" email to the users from these reports before adding new users to existing station email lists.

  • Consider including an invitation for users to subscribe to local station newsletters instead of adding users automatically to newsletters.
